It seems like yesterday that St. Jude Children's Research Hospital opened its doors to lead the fight for children suffering from catastrophic diseases. Growing up, I remember hearing my father, Danny Thomas, talk about the hospital and how it was the last hope for many of the children who walked through its doors. Today, the dream of St. Jude has become the reality of thousands of children who have survived their battles with cancer.
It takes big hearts to make it possible for St. Jude to provide the best medical treatment to children around the world. We are so grateful to our caring friends, and the thousands of Partner In Hope® donors, volunteers and supporters who have joined us in our fight to save children's lives.
St. Jude has made tremendous strides in cancer research and pioneered new cancer treatments that have raised the survival rate of childhood cancers from less than 20 percent to more than 70 percent today. With your help, our doctors and scientists will continue their life-saving work until we reach, as my father dreamed, a day when "no child should die in the dawn of life."
